Inside Archaeological Dig Found At Pipers

Restoration work can render many surprises! Our Americorps team working at Pipers in December were focused on strengthening the supports of the gallery.
While removing boards under the gallery, AmeriCorps Blue 3 team was suddenly covered in debris as literally hundreds of pounds of material poured onto the auditorium floor.
Since the discovery, State Archaeologist Ron Reno has instructed Bill Beesons Theater History class on techniques of sorting artifacts. The project has continued under our current AmeriCorps crew, and will be placed in the hands of Margot Memmott, graduate student in Archaeology.
